Distinctly Christian and distinctly homeschooling, TROOP 1202’s purpose is to raise up the next generation of Christian young men and women to the glory of God.

Since 1990, TROOP 1202 has existed to enable parents to provide vital components to our home-educated young men and women in Carrollton, Plano, Lewisville, The Colony, and the surrounding communities.

The core of the 1202 experience is outdoorsmanship. At its heart it is about getting boys outside, exploring God’s creation and learning to work together in patrols to accomplish a common objective.

The 1202 Family is chartered by the Metrocrest Home School Support Group (MHSSG) as a ministry to the Christian home school community. The 1202 Family seeks to honor the Lord Jesus Christ by helping homeschooling families raise up a new generation of disciples who will love Him wholeheartedly in thought, word, and deed. The various programs help us impart knowledge and skills that will secure that end, while nurturing Godly friendships, providing Godly role models, and promoting family unity.

The following programs are provided by the members of the 1202 Family

FaithKeepers and Trail Life USA meet regularly two times each month at the same location in Carrollton during the months of September through May.

The 1202 Family has meetings and special activities throughout the year. These include the two family campouts, a Christmas party and a year-end banquet. In addition, FaithKeepers and Trail Life USA have their own special activities throughout the year.

Dues, fees, and expenses for special activities vary for each group. Each group has an annual fundraiser in the fall, so that every child has an opportunity to earn enough money to cover all of his or her expenses for the year. If you have questions or concerns about costs after reading the dues section for your child's group, please contact your child's leader.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
