Trail Life Troop TX-1202 Feeds the Need!
In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, a group of local Trail Life USA members are embarking in an effort to help those in need. Feed the Need is a focal point of Trail Life Troop TX-1202, which is spearheading this effort. The troop goal is to raise $25,000, and a part of these proceeds will go toward 5,000 meals that will be donated to those impacted in South Texas by the hurricane. "Service to the community is a big part of Trail Life so we are going to use this as an opportunity to serve. Rather than selling candy bars or popcorn, we wanted to do a "give back" fundraiser this year. The troop will travel to one of the many affected areas later this year and personally hand deliver this food to those who desperately need it," said Greg Wyman, Troopmaster. Trail Life Troop 1202 is associated with Trail Life USA, a Christian outdoor adventure program that emphasizes and teaches biblical moral values. Troop 1202, based in Carrollton, is comprised of 40 boys, who meet at Metrocrest Presbyterian Church. In addition to Feed the Need, the purpose of the fundraiser is to send boys to summer camp, a High Adventure trip, and their annual dues. On Monday, November 13, the troop will have a packing party to assemble and pack the 5,000 meals. Would you consider donating to this effort? About Troop 1202
Distinctly Christian and distinctly homeschooling, TROOP 1202’s purpose is to raise up the next generation of Christian young men and women to the glory of God.
Since 1990, TROOP 1202 has existed to enable parents to provide vital components to our home-educated young men and women in Carrollton, Plano, Lewisville, The Colony, and the surrounding communities.
The core of the 1202 experience is outdoorsmanship. At its heart it is about getting boys outside, exploring God’s creation and learning to work together in patrols to accomplish a common objective.
